I’m so happy that I found this. It’s what I look forward to every day. I can’t wait to grow with the classes — you are amazing!

Flamenco Chicago is a great place to learn Flamenco! Rosetta is a very patient teacher who continually challenges her students at every level. Her classes combine technique and choreography with a student showcase once or twice a year. The showcases are a huge plus since her students not only learn to dance, they learn to perform and have a lot of fun doing it! My training with Rosetta provided me with the skills to perform professionally with other flamenco dancers and musicians in Chicago. Flamenco Chicago is a very friendly, positive place - the best place to get introduced to flamenco dance and the flamenco community.

Rosetta Magdalen is an amazing teacher. She is inspired and inspiring. The assistant instructors and more senior dancers are wonderful. I have been with Flamenco Chicago for about 3 years and I have performed in several showcases (recitals). As one of the older students, I find classes to be challenging yet so beneficial, eliciting my creativity and expression while improving my flexibility, balance, posture and confidence. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; the music and other students are invigorating and encouraging. My only lament is that I should have started this years ago. My pledge is to continue and to hopefully improve! Thank you Rosetta and Flamenco Chicago.

I started with the fundamentals class and I’ve really enjoyed my introduction to the world of flamenco! I was worried that I wasn’t the right fitness level, or that I didn’t have any dance experience*, but the instructors have been so patient and helpful, and the class is challenging but not frustrating. I recommend this studio for anyone who’s looking to try something different!
*unless Zumba counts as dance experience.

Flamenco Chicago is the perfect place to learn about flamenco. The teachers are dedicated, focused, patient and encouraging. Other dance students are willing to help you too as you go through the classes. As a student, I have had the opportunity to meet many other wonderful people that have the same interest as me, which is dance!! Through being part of Flamenco Chicago, I have made wonderful friendships that inspire me to become a better flamenco dancer.

Flamenco Chicago LLC is a wonderful dance studio for flamenco dancers of all levels! Everyone is so welcoming and patient in their instruction. I have learned so much in such a short time and am happy to be surrounded by dance teachers and students that truly take the time to help me learn. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have some fun or find a passion for flamenco.

Flamenco Chicago is just what I needed to get back into dancing. Encouraging teachers and a supportive community of students.
— Jennifer Klonsky
Truly have grown as a dancer and as a woman. Rosetta offers clear instruction and reaches you to connect with your core, heart and mind. I am more confident, too.
— Mabél Guzmán
I had never danced, but it was a dream of mine to dance flamenco one day. After driving by Flamenco Chicago many times I finally enrolled. It has been the best thing I’ve ever done! I can’t believe myself how much I have learned. Rosetta is such a GREAT teacher and her passion rubs off on me when I dance, I can feel the passion, live it and enjoy it! I look forward to dance every week.
— Marlene Salas
It took me well over a year to find the perfect time to begin classes, and I’ve not been disappointed. Though grace does not come naturally to me, I enjoy this class like no other dance class I’ve taken in the past. Rosetta is a fabulous teacher, both of flamenco and of the confidence needed to become a great performer. I look forward to continuing to study under her tutelage.

I absolutely LOVE Flamenco Chicago! Rosetta Magdalen is a fantastic teacher (not to mention a marvelous dancer!) who breaks down the alluring art of Flamenco in a caring and dedicated manner. Being a dancer and teacher myself, I really appreciate her passion and sense of humor. I also love the “family” like feel of my class and have made many new friends from Flamenco class. Even if you do not intend to master the art like I do, you can still receive many benefits such as self-empowerment, self-expression, self-confidence, experience camaraderie and friendship, and most of all spend time to do something good for “You.” ♥♥
— Mikey De La Serna
You are such a terrific teacher. You always find a way to improve my skills. Thank you very much for the fun classes, and your patience. Thank you for everything.
— Jill Chaiear
Rosetta Magdalen and the dancers of Flamenco Chicago are such an inspiration to me. I remember being so intimidated when I first saw them and they could have remained so if not for their warm hospitality. Each gives and nurtures the less experienced dancers in an environment that is both friendly and non-judgmental. The dancing is fierce, the camaraderie sincere and the journey amazing. Thank you to those who share it with me.
— Cristina Serrato
I absolutely LOVE Flamenco Chicago & Rosetta! It never fails, every time I leave the class I leave feeling stronger, empowered and closer to becoming a true flamenco dancer! I highly recommend this class.”
”2 years later and I continue to learn and grow at Flamenco Chicago. As a person with no previous dance training, Rosetta has nurtured my learning process and helped me become a better dancer, when I thought I might not be able to keep up. I have learned so much the past couple years and look forward to the future at Flamenco Chicago!
— Jessica Sanchez
Flamenco Chicago is a GREAT place to take classes. I’ve been going there for a year and a half and the atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. It is a place you can really learn. There are levels for all skill sets, by the way. The classes are affordable, which makes a difference, and the location is accessible by public transit. (Easy street parking for those with cars!) In short, I really have FUN at Flamenco Chicago!
— Shawna Tucker
I have been taking Flamenco with Rosetta for about 5 years. I started as a beginner, but had a lot of former dance training, so was able to quickly advance.

Rosetta is great with new students and meets them where they are - if you have no dance training, she patiently takes you from the beginning. If you have previous dance training, you will be able to progress quickly.

As an advanced student, I enjoy working with Rosetta because she can always challenge me! Flamenco Chicago has shows approximately two times a year, so we learn different dances (palos) to perform, based on level. Performances are really fun and I’ve heard great reviews from the friends and family that come to see me!

She also occasionally offers classes on improvising and with live music - I wish she had more! If you are thinking about taking a flamenco class, I highly recommend Rosetta and Flamenco Chicago!
