Flamenco Chicago offers a fun, but serious, learning environment with the Chicago area’s greatest number of flamenco dance classes under one roof. You will meet a friendly, welcoming, and very interesting group of students here, ranging in age from teens through 60s, with most students in their 20s and 30s. Class sizes are limited to ensure supportive, personal attention to each student. And, because we offer many classes per week, there are more options to take make-up classes when you have to miss a class — and yes, we do allow make-ups!

Our structured class program, requiring payment per session means that you won’t encounter multi-level classes full of drop-in students. Everyone is taught at the appropriate level in order to make steady progress. Talented students are able to quickly move up to a higher level. Students with no previous dance experience find that they are able to develop their skills step by step.

Why learn flamenco dance? The passion and power of flamenco offers a fun and stimulating way to relieve stress and overcome physical and mental tension. You’ll meet a wide variety of interesting new friends as the study of flamenco encourages you to work together to perfect your skills. You’ll improve your coordination, concentration, grace and expression while becoming more audacious and self-confident. You’ll find that this new stamina, energy and charisma transfers into every area of your life. And you’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate what you’ve learned in our twice-annual student showcases. Flamenco Chicago offers more than just a recreational activity; we are a supportive dance community with a special way of looking at life through the beauty and fire of our artform.

Our classes and teaching methods have been featured in the May 2004 issue of Dance Teacher, the national magazine for dance teachers. In October 2006, Rosetta and Flamenco Chicago were selected by the Chicago Tribune (from among all the flamenco teachers and organizations in Chicago) to teach one of the winners in the newspaper’s “Dreamers” contest, which culminated in beautiful coverage of our studio and Fall flamenco show. In May 2008, an interview with Rosetta appeared in online city magazine Gapers Block. And, in July 2010, Flamenco Chicago was chosen “Chicago’s Best Flamenco Class” by Chicago’s Best on WGN-TV. Through the years, we have also been featured in the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune Planner, Metromix, and TimeOut Chicago.

Group classes
We often offer once-a-week classes at the Fundamental, Basic 1, Basic Technique and Intermediate Technique levels at $95/six-week session. Currently, for Basic 2 and Intermediate levels, students are required to attend class twice-a-week and six-week sessions are $165. We currently offer adult flamenco dance classes only, although we sometimes have children, ages 10 and up, who attend class with their moms at a reduced, family rate.

Since 2006, ten percent of Saturday class revenues are donated to one of a number of local and international charities on a rotating basis. Some of our favorites are: Care, Inspiration Corporation, and Heifer International. Students can feel that their tuition dollars not only pay the rent at Flamenco Chicago, but help to better the lives of others worldwide.
